Knott’s Scary Farm 2024
It is the best time of the year! Knott’s Scary Farm is back and arguably better than ever? Keep reading to hear about what’s new in 2024 and why you can’t miss this year’s event. Knott's Scary Farm is an annual Halloween-themed event held at Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, California. It is one of the oldest and most popular haunted attractions in the United States. The event transforms the theme park into a horror-filled experience with haunted mazes, scare zones, live shows, and costumed characters roaming the park. And new for 2024? TWO new mazes, replacing the retired mazes of The Depths and Dark Entities. New lanterns with fun new features that are usable across Cedar Fair properties. New drinks, merch, and updates to the mazes from last year. I personally feel like this year is even better than the 50th, because they kept so much of it but updated it and made it even better. The new mazes are Widows, a retirement home for widows gone awry and infested with spiders in ways you wouldn’t expect, and Eight Fingers Nine: The Boogeyman, or as I call it “Eight Did WHAT To Nine?”, a boogeyman story told through folk horror and time period sets. I actually prefer Eight Fingers Nine myself, but both are strong entries.
They brought back the season pass, which has meant I’ve gone 3 or 4 times already this haunt season. There are 1 or 2 more vegan options this year than there were last year, notably more options for vegan pizza! And I am obsessed with the pickle whiskey shot that comes in a hollowed out half pickle - actually so tasty. I did feel like Carnevil scare zone just isn’t hitting this year, and I’m unsure if it was strategic or just a lot of turnover of talent between last season and this one.
As for the best maze? We’ve got to hand it to Cinema Slasher - it’s a bit different every time you go through, and I love the updates for 2024. You may get campy fun horror on one walk through, and you may get pure terror on the next. It’s just really well done. There are 2 mazes retiring at the end of the season: Bloodlines and Wax Works. As for Bloodlines, we won’t be sad to see this one go at the end of this season; Wax Works, it’s never been a favorite of mine, but I know a lot of folks are sad that it will be retired after this year. Go now while you still have the chance!

It's one of the top haunted attractions in the country, and its long history means they’ve refined the experience over the years to really deliver high-quality scares. Rides at Night: Riding roller coasters and attractions in the dark can be thrilling, and Knott's often adds spooky elements to these rides during the event.
Fun with Friends: It’s a great group activity! Going with friends or family adds to the fun, especially as you all react to the scares together.
